It came and went all too fast. But for six hours on the 20th of August in 2005 the La Quinta Aztec Empire of the 1970's roared back to life and 130 alumni enjoyed a flashback to the days when milling around the quad and partying on a Saturday night was all that mattered.
Never mind television.
Ours continues to be the story of the real O.C. from the days when tomato and strawberry farms dotted the landscape and E tickets were real currency.
We spread our wings to the ends of the earth and came home to share our stories.
We booked the same hotel that we danced in at the park we haunted like the teens who greeted us at the door. Some of us danced, some of us talked. Some of us played with carefree abandon and some of us pondered questions about ourselves long forgotten. Each of us found out most of all that we are still Aztecs.
