Volunteer Team Recruiting
We are always recruiting qualified area residents interested in contributing time to the community. MBPD volunteers are trained in traffic management and serve under the supervision of the police as perimeter containment personnel at both pre-planned events and designated response call outs. Team members also set up and operate emergency communications radio nets using amateur radio equipment. Interested persons should be willing to attend training two or three times a year and serve on at least two operations deployments per year. A Technician-Class FCC Amateur Radio license is encouraged but not mandatory.
If interested you may contact Lt. Andy Harrod at the Manhattan Beach Police Department. If you have questions please feel free to contact Dennis Santiago.

One of the great pleasures of my life was to serve as Field Day Chairman for radio station W6TRW, home of the famous TRW Swap Meet, from 1997 to 2005. I am taking a year or two off in order to focus on building my business but look forward to returning to this most rewarding of June rituals soon.
See the movie of FD2005.
